This year marks a very special milestone for The County Donegal Association of Greater Boston. That milestone is our association’s 100 th anniversary, and we are commemorating the century mark with a gala dinner on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Quincy Marriott. Please save the date.

We have also decided to celebrate our centennial with a keepsake book that will chronicle the County Donegal Association’s history from 1908 to the present day, featuring the memories and memorabilia of our members, photos that bring our past and present together, and anecdotes that celebrate the impact the Association has had upon our community. In local annals, those who came here from Donegal and carved out new lives for their families in and around Boston shared hardship and triumph. They proudly embraced their new home – but never forgot their Donegal roots, history, and traditions. From generation to generation, they shared and continue to share that sense of place.

Well-known author, Peter Stevens, is currently in the process of writing our centennial book. This will be an important part of our November 1 st celebration. In order to underwrite some of the costs, we are asking for your financial support.
